Scott, Jr. was born 2 Jun 1733, probably somewhere near Boston, MA.
He was the son of John and Agnis Scott. John
married Rachel Stewart (1735, Boxford, Essex, MA - aft. 1821, prob. Unadilla,
NY), daughter of John Stewart and Sarah Ball (or Bell), on 25 Oct 1759
in Blandford, Hampden, MA. He was among the first settlers of Murrayfield
(later Chester), MA in 1763. He was chosen as a selectman in Blandford
in 1769, fought in the Revolution, and was a selectman in Blandford again
from 1782-85. By 1796, he had moved to Unadilla, NY, where he was
repeatedly elected path master and pound master. John died 12 Nov
1819 in Unadilla, Otesgo, NY. |
